Ember PartnershipThe GMHPN was selected as one of the nine partners of Ember cohort 2022 out of 167 applicants worldwide. Ember is an initiative by the SHM Foundation that supports excellent mental health initiatives in low-resource settings so they can grow and thrive. We benefitted greatly from the mentorship from Ember to strengthen our capacity and skills within the organisation through this partnership.
In April 2023, GMHPN was selected for the Ember Mental Health Investee Cohort 2023! We owe so much of our organizational growth and further development over the past year to Ember's mentorship and support! We are forever grateful 🙏 and looking to continue this partnership. |
Partnership with IIMHL
We are celebrating yet another exciting partnership, with the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL).
The global partnership will strengthen engagement initiatives, and share knowledge of the challenges and solutions for improving mental health. There is a shared commitment to work through both IIMHL's member countries, collaborative networks and GMHPN's connections with countries around the world to promote and ensure the inclusion of people with lived experience by joining forces to highlight issues such as human rights, mental health literacy and de-stigmatisation and non-discrimination in mental health care user services. |
Official Partnership between GMHPN and Recovery IPSS (Portugal)
RECOVERY IPSS signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Global Mental Health Peer Network (GMHPN).
The signing ceremony took place virtually on 29 July 2021, with the presence of Miguel Durães, President of the Board of RECOVERY IPSS, and Claudia Sartor, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GMHPN, representing Charlene Sunkel, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. With the signing of this protocol, not only is the way open for the affiliation of users of RECOVERY IPSS, applying for Portuguese representatives, making Portugal the 37th country represented in the GMHPN, but also creating conditions for exchanges of experiences and training between both institutions. |
Miguel Durães considers that “ the signing of this protocol is a historic landmark for our country. GMHPN collaborates with international organizations such as the UN and WHO, and its main objective is to help cultivate a new generation of leaders with mental health conditions, drive change and transformation in the global mental health sector, in a sense that we, as an institution, fully review ourselves. With this protocol, we are going to allow the expansion of borderless experiences to our users, family members and caregivers so that we can continue on the path of defining policies, research and practices centered on the defense of human rights in mental health. It is an honor for our institution to take this path together with the Global Mental Health Peer Network ”, he concludes.
For her part, Claudia Sartor stresses that “ the Global Mental Health Peer Network is pleased to join forces with RECOVERY IPSS and establish a great working relationship between the two organizations. We look forward to starting to work in our mutual interest to improve global mental health .”
